I had jury duty 2 years ago. They asked me if I had attended college and I said "Yes, I have a degree in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Physics."

They said "Thank you very much" and dismissed me.

A friend of mine who just passed the bar told me that lawyers have no desire to pick people who can make decisions for themselves or who are capable of basic logic and reason. They want jurors who are easily manipulated and duped. Sad state for our country.

Something about reckless endangerment...

I got on a panel, then excused. I hate that. I can never figure out what the thinking was. I should get the attorney's card and have him explain it one day. There were about twelve of us excused, and the jury wasn't even seated yet. The DA was happy with us, but the defense attorney kept preempting away.
