alias: The strike price for employee options used to be set at the lowest closing price in July--now the last trading day in July. With the stories about Gates wanting to talk the price down, the company's desire to keep its talent through a rewarding option program and the tracking stock plan discussions, I was paranoid that MSFT was doing all it could to get the price as low as possible at the end of July. Yesterday's close at 87 5/8 was the low for the month. Acting on your post and my suspicion, I checked a 90 month chart to see if there was a pattern of driving the stock down to a low in July to benefit those with employee options. There doesn't appear to be one. Just paranoid I guess.
