Char, thanks for the links. Constant dollars for lithium compounds seems to have remained the same from 1970. There is a reference in my old 1970 Handbook of Chemistry that has lithium metal at $8/lb. Most of that cost has to be the electrochemistry to recover the metal. Energy costs have increased enormously since 1970 so I would expect lithium metal to sell for ~ $20/lb today. Of course the value of the ore/lb is much much less.
