Hi. Teevee. With the world in RSA coming to an end next week according to your thinking one would think that all companies doing business there would be in deep trouble. But when you look at a little company like De Beers things just don't reflect your distorted view point. Since Jan/99 their stock price has gone up 136% and is at a 52 week high. Since your only hope of ever getting back the money you sunk into wsp is a buyout by DeBeers you seem to be biteing the hand that you hope one day will feed you. You wishing that a whole nation burns just to give you the satisfaction of seeing the share price of SUF go down really shows what a small minded person you really are. How sad to see someone sink so low. So course with your investment record I can understand your frustrations.

Hello teevee,

Nice backhand! I'll give you credit for creativity. The hyperbole like "South Africa burns" is new for this thread, but it takes all kinds. When you say "false hope", what do you mean?

Would you put Nortel's threatened move to the US on the same level as Anglo's move to London?

How about Inco, Alcan, Barrick, Placer, etc. reporting in $US? Are they worried that shareholders would think less of them if they reported in Canadian pesos?

As for my SUF position, check back on the thread for the last couple years. It should be abundantly clear that I have been long, am presently long, and expect to be long as SUF moves well over $20. (and I won't revise my story to fit the facts that come down the dyke :-), unlike some others who generally post on a different thread.)

If you come up with any other wonderful insights, please continue to inform.

Regards,

Confluence

PS. Congrats on the up day in WSP!

teevee......your remarks re RSA are right on the mark IMO........ The long and the short of it is that the whites have had their way and their day in SA it's over....The country is now in transition to new,black,rule....the homeys have won, long live SA. When DeBeers gives away the bulk of their new M1 holdings to a black empowerment group What are they saying.....????? Trying to buy their future me thinks....all of sub-saharan Africa is a mess, take your pick Sierra Leone, Angola, DRC (name could change in the next 5 minutes) remember when it was the "Congo" remember "Katanga Pro." "Brazaville" nothing changes much over there, it's just getting worse. Mauritania (North Africa) has a chance but a slim one at that.........why is DeBeers becoming so involved in Canadas NWT.....????? Easy pickins for the blokes, Canadians too ............to take care of their own natural resources, what a joke. just a little food for thought for a slow friday...........
