<There may be new service provider in
SEA to replace current one--likely a consortium of telephone companies.>

I tried to find some up to date info about Malaysia and Indonesia. The Airtouch site once had brief references to planned GWs there, but they seem to have been removed. Couldn't find anything about them on Vodafone site, either. I was able to find big web site for Malaysian firm Sine Darby (Airtouch's JV partner there, supposedly), but couldn't find a whisper about Globalstar.

<<Mgt. will monitor minutes used rather than number of subscribers and report quarterly.>> per report of conference with Bear-Stearns on Monday.
This seems to be the best way to do it. The number of subs is meaningless unless you know how much airtime the average sub uses. Much better to have one windbag in Brazil than 3 Americans using their phone only on their yearly 5 day sail off the California coast. To G*, each minute is 47 cents period -- they collect no monthly fee.
