From Bloomberg:

Drew Peck at SG Cowen Securities Corp. raised his rating on Intel to ''buy'' from ''neutral'' -- his first upgrade in almost 14 months -- and added 8 cents to his 1999 profit forecast. Peck expects Intel to sell more chips as consumers scoop up low-priced and free PCs. While chips for these machines carry slimmer profit margins, Intel will benefit because they're cheap to make and in high demand, he said.

''These chips can be very profitable,'' said Peck, who now expects Intel to earn $2.33 a share in 1999.

I thought the catechism on this thread is that Intel, aka predator, wasn't earning any money in the low end. Or was that the other microprocessor company?

Elmer, <MIA-thlon has been shipping in high volumes
since June. Jerry said so...>
Could you stop skewing things here, Elmer?
No one told you "high volumes", they told
"tens or hundred thousands" only. If you
want to measure this up to Intel volumes,
you are making an intentionally deceptive
allusion.

Elmer - RE: "All this will turn around now that the MIA-thlon has been shipping in high volumes since June."

Your lack of confidence in Athlon shipments fits in line with your worries about a bunch of foils.
