Agree with that...I used to know Excel inside and out...now I'm running just to stay in place as far as features go. And some features are the most stupid I've ever seen....

First off, I don't/won't work on Wintel (I don't even like firing up VPC-only do it when I have to.) Sorry to you fellas who do- I hear about the grief MSFT products give you.

For what it's worth, on my Mac (PB266) Excel98 and IE4.5 coexist very well (with Word98 and OutlookExpress4.5 and several hundred megabytes of other apps). I typically have 8-12 apps open simultaneously, including all MSFT products, and sometimes don't restart for weeks on end, even while switching networks daily while in sleep mode (the CPU not me). So from my Macperspective, MSFT can keep adding as many features as they want to each new Mac upgrade- I will welcome it.

I think you probably meant show me a more powerful AND simple spreadsheet than Excel, i.e., a simple spreadsheet with a similar level of functionality.

Yes, thank you.

More Powerful: Wingz
More Simple: Claris Works

I'm not interested in a spreadsheet pissing contest. Wingz definitely crunches numbers harder and ClarisWorks is definitely a cleaner solution for a simple table or chart. But I spend 20 hours a week or more using Excel to manage financial models. For the typical business user on a Mac like me, there is no alternative in terms of ease of use, power, presentation ability and compatibility. When there is, I will be one of the first to start touting it.
