Vince,

On this one, I have to agree with the good Doctor, but then again, I ...

Realize you must keep up your image as ...

Mr. Nice Guy.

Oh ... happy investing,

Stan

WLD also said there would not be a NPEC/IPVC agreement

I did? Where did I say that?

With the NPEC pump out of the way and the Medinah "JV with a major" silly-season apparently once again upon us, I thought it might be nice to stroll down memory lane. These were all posted by some of the long-time longs on this thread. Enjoy...

September 1997
"I asked [Dave Diricco] if there was anything else and he said more "major" news was coming soon."

"The next announcement about this drill program will probably include stuff about Proven Reserves."
[There are still no proven reserves. There aren't even any inferred reserves. There is the possibility of inferred reserves.]

"Be glad that you can buy more now at $1.06. The day is soon coming when you won't be able to touch MDIN for under $5.00"

"An internal report at NPEC headquarters revealed a meeting with L. Regis (CEO of NPEC) and high officials of Barrick is to take place this week in Chile."
[At least back then they could put a name on the alleged "major"]

"There is also the possibility that news will contain something about participating with a very large major on our property."

October 1997
"With that management negotiates a 1-1 exchange of each shareholder's interest in Andacolla for Barrick Gold stock (now at $25.00 per share)."

February 1998
"Here's the Dayton news-perhaps with new management-they will be more willing to strike a deal with the Andacollo properties?"
[Yes, the same Dayton that is now slagged on this thread]

March 1998 (A particularly hypey month)
"How about a $3.00 per share buyout offer for all the shares of MDIN that was REJECTED by management?"

"Canadian News Network has some very interesting articles about Minorca/Dayton. Minorca has been on a tear lately acquiring everything under the sun. They have the money, so lets see if we have anything they want."

"Don't laugh. The rumor mill has it that the combined company would be named Medinah - not Dayton nor Menorca."

"Please someone tell me the story about Dayton buying us out again for multiples of today's price again."
[This was after the stock tanked[again]]

"We are very close to a sale of the former FIRE assets. Those Andacolla properties are the main assets that Dayton and Minorca are interested in since they are the ones that border and sit in Dayton's mining properties. We'd be selling for huge amounts of cash (at $3 per share its $110,000,000.00 or so)"

"The Chinese are looking to enter the copper mining business in Chile and I am sure that MDIN would sell the property under the right circumstances."

"Hold on tight to your shares. Remember that someones in the kitchen with MEDINA...... and I think they are just now kicking the tires and getting a REAL GOOOOD look at the paint job and of course they will work their way around and See whats under the HOOD. I hope their EYES pop out when they SEE all those horses under the hood .

"Metallica gives up right to buy Chile mine stake...Perhaps they are going to buy MDIN's properties' instead?"

"We'll just have to wait and see- but clearly our package of Andacollo properties are worth more to them [Dayton] ($120,000,000 plus IMO) than they are to us."

"Total package $120,000,000+ ($3.00 per share of MDIN). But DAY's only got $95,000,000 that's liquid. Ah, here's where good negotiators show their colors. Maybe a deal can be worked out and Dayton employees can wash MDIN cars on weekends or something...."

April 1998
"People seem to be forgetting that MDIN has stuff going on that's good enough to attract BIG money. This is not conditional; the offers are on the table- it is simply up to MDIN to determine which one (if any) to accept."

"Don't you think that the bully and his Daddy M (who need to try as best they can to save face with their backers) might be convinced to part with their big chunks of cash (totalling $100,000,000 approx) in order to buy the bunch of somethings and a little peace? I do."

"If I were a big fish such as American Barrick, Homestake, Freeport I wouldn't want another big fish next to me. Since Medinah now owns the country of Chile, it would seem prudent that the big boys gobble up MDIN before its too late. IMO "

May 1998
"Acquistion by or partnership with major possible in near term(juniors are often acquired during periods of low gold prices- MDIN management has stated that it would prefer a partnership arrangement)"

Part II at a later date...
