<<<I don't see any reason to go to toys r us and I'll bet a lot of other people don't either... thats my entire rationale for amazon here.>>>

I visited the Burbank Toys R Us store here recently and found customer service to be abominable, just terrible. Their computer was down for baby gift registry, the store looked like an old Woolworth's five-and-dime store, and the staff was not knowledgeable or friendly. I vowed never to set foot in one again.

This kind of impression will drive computer-savvy people to the net or elsewhere for their toy purchases.

Also, imagine the amount of time saved by shopping online instead of fighting the crowds at the local stores at peak holiday times.

Interesting Michelle, thanks for the comments on toys and electronics.

So true. I am constantly amazed by how unspeakably awful toy stores are. I have visited a bunch of friends with young kids in the past few weeks, and ventured into several of the big chains in various parts of the country to buy gifts. I think I'm scarred for life...

Yikes, just saw KIS's message about buying puts. Suddenly I'm wondering if going short (AWRE, BVSN, INKT) a few minutes ago was such a good idea. :)
