Agreement Links WebMD Consumer Site to Dellnet.com
WebMD Physician Subscriptions Software Loaded on Dell Computers for Healthcare Professionals and Dell Designated as a Premier Provider for WebMD Physicians)

ATLANTA, July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- WebMD, a leading provider of healthcare information on the Internet, today announced a marketing agreement with Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq: DELL - news), the world's leading direct computer systems company, aimed at broadening access to both companies' products and services through a dynamic program of marketing and promotional ties, linking the two companies' Web sites and their trusted brand names. The alliance will target the entire healthcare market, from consumers to hospitals, physicians and other medical professionals. As previously announced, WebMD and Healtheon (Nasdaq: HTLH - news) agreed last month to merge to form Healtheon/WebMD, the first end-to-end provider of healthcare information and services.

As part of the agreement, Dell will add a WebMD link on its dedicated healthcare site, dell.com, and create a WebMD co-branded page that will allow WebMD subscribers to price, order and track the status of Dell systems via an exclusive and secure web site. Dell also will place WebMD's link in its newly announced dellnet.com consumer web site. Dellnet.com connects home PC customers with personalized services; products and news through a Dell-branded Internet portal that will be offered with Dell Dimension® PCs beginning July 27, 1999.

Dell will load software that enables physicians to subscribe to WebMD's online services in the company's computers purchased by doctors, nurses, hospitals and office managers for healthcare related businesses. Additionally, WebMD will designate Dell as a ''Premier Provider'' for all WebMD physicians, and each WebMD welcome kit will contain information about specials for Dell products and services. Also, in June Dell made a minority equity investment in WebMD. Terms of the investment were not disclosed.

Jeff Arnold, CEO of WebMD, stated: ''We are exceptionally pleased to be able to count Dell among our close partners in our mission to improve healthcare for everyone involved in the healthcare industry -- physicians, hospitals and their patients. Our alliance with Dell will benefit both companies, since Dell customers will gain improved access to valuable medical and health information, and we anticipate that a large number of WebMD subscribers will want to take advantage of the hardware expertise and promotional offers Dell will provide.''

''We're pleased to bring the benefit of Dell's technology solutions to this important market,'' said Michael Dell, Chairman and CEO of Dell Computer Corporation. ''This agreement makes it simple and secure for WebMD's clients to purchase Dell products and is an example of the efficiency of the Dell direct model and the power of the Internet.''

Sam,

By the way, what is the deal with our "bros" ganging up on DELL??? I know Kumar is back on the DELL
bandwagon, but man, Niles has gotta go. He's making a name for himself at our expense! Of all the 5000
stocks in the market, he has to pick on this one?! Sheesh. <VBG>

Don't feel like the lone stranger. He picks on Intel too. Funny how perspective is. To me, he seems to pick apart Dell only a smidgeon compared with Intel. I'm sure you see it quite different.
