Inter-Con/PC Introduces Totebook 6000 DVD Internet Set Top Box
Eden Prairie, Minn. July 26, 1999 /PR Newswire/ -- Inter-Con/PC, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board IPCN) announced today beginning in September the company will manufacture a set-top-box that delivers full fledged computing capabilities, Internet access, DVD, surround sound and other features to the home TV.

The Totebook™ 6000 is an interactive multi-media home center that provides the consumer the capabilities of six components in one value package. With the Totebook 6000 users will now be able to enjoy DVD movies, computer games, CD music as well as perform all the functions found on a desktop computer. The package includes a wireless keyboard that operates up to 30 feet from the TV set. The suggested retail price for the Model 6000 will be under a thousand dollars.

Inter-con/PC Vice-President of Marketing and Sales Ray Meifert said, "The Totebook is the ultimate in technology convergence marrying the best that PC and TV technologies have to offer in a compact design about the size of an upscale laptop computer. With the Totebook, the consumer gains the equivalent of six separate components at about the third of the cost. These features along with an infrared wireless keyboard and mouse allows the user to truly transform the TV into the center for home entertainment and education."

The Totebook's unique compact size and robust capabilities are a result of its patent pending board. "This is a product designed with the consumer in mind." said Mike Ferderer, CEO and President of Inter-Con/PC. "Through our unique board design we have been able to position components in a space that normally would occupy three times the real-estate."

"This is product designed for people who want the benefits of new technology with the ease and convenience of a home appliance," said Meifert. "It can be an excellent addition to the home either as an Internet access device or the primary home entertainment center."

The Totebook will be primarily marketed through original equipment manufacturers, Internet service providers, cable and satellite companies, system integrators and selected retail outlets.
