The ISP that kicked off the current free Internet bonanza, X-stream, has claimed another first by announcing plans to deliver its local call rate Internet service across Europe.

Launched in March 1998, X-Stream was the first UK ISP to offer a free Internet service, despite claims from Freeserve that they were the pioneers.
