I am not sure what you are winking about. May be you want to elaborate. Intel has pretty much conceded performance crown by pricing PIII-600 ***UNDER*** Athlon-600.

As if that were not enough, industry folks are talking about AMD at 750MHz and Intel at 667MHz for this Christmas.

Wake-up man - just about the only hope for Intel is continued delays from AMD. That could happen but, man, it is like praying!
