<: "....we make a damn good modem....".
there have never been any heat issues with WSTL modem - it doesn't run hot. So if indeed there are quality issues regarding BEL deployment, more could come WSTL's way.>

From what I understand ALA was never going to be the "SUPPLIER" for CPE's..They were only to be used temporarily until WSTL or other better performing CPE's were available. .

I heard a while ago that BEL ran some test comparing WSTL to ALA and WSTL blew the doors off ALA...It wasn't even a contest...BEL wants WSTL and using WSTL. WSTL has been shipping ALA compliant DMT CPE's to BEL for months.

MZ could not have been any clearer than he was during last CC...WSTL will get their fair share of CPE business and was very bullish on LU, Fujitsu/BT and BEL...VERY BULLISH!

For those of you who thought WSTL was getting out of ADSL, you missed the point...They simply restructured so that they can be right in the middle of ADSL with minimal cost exposure!

.all IMHO of course.

Dave,

I think you are right on track with the connection the dots thing.
This kettle is about to boil over and erupt soon.
Just my opinion.

dave--

now that wasnt nice... i have told you guys what i was doing. i didnt cause it to happen, i just took advantage of the situation. i also showed you that you didnt have to miss out on any potential upside.

look, as cynical as i am regarding the company, its management and its products, i still have that nagging feeling that there will be somekind of buyout. i understand what you are thinking and the reason you havent taken advantage of situation. there is a simple solution... get your account cleared for options and start trading.

i dont know whats going on... all i know is the fluctuations have been great and i will continue to play them. as for the LT, modems are a crap business. i knew that going in and thought that the deployment would get going so quickly that the stock would really run. it never happened. so where are we now? we are investing in a company that derives a lot of its revenue from commodity products. how much pricing power do they have? none. all in all, LT doesnt look real good. how long do you think it will be koreans and taiwanese start buying the chipsets and making their own modems? i'll give you a hint.... not too long after DSL goes mass market. and there is no way any of the manufacturers will be able to compete. all this is outweighed by one simple fact... the stock is under accumulation. someone wants it. i dont know why... maybe its C+. who knows.

on a lighter note, the technicals on the 60 minute indicate overbought, while the daily indicates its got a little room left to move up. i'm not selling the common i recently purchased, but i am buying some puts top cover the downside. i dont like the overall market, and i dont like the effect it could have on WSTL. i still have vivid memories of WSTL below 3.

good luck to all,
trey
