Larry,

I was assuming a stock price and strike price of 35. I
am trying to guage the demand for ANCR stock deriving
from covered call writers.

>>>But consider that the volatility of ANCR stock price over a one month period can make options as hazardous (or as potentially profitable) as margin.<<<

Now I would think options players would like volatility . Play it both directions and you win twice. Buying both directions can also work as a hedge if it goes only one direction up or down. No movement would be an options players nightmare.

It seems that options can/would actually lessen volatility. Having done options exactly twice in my life, this is just an uneducated opinion.
