Following web site has interesting info for Q followers:

cellular.co.za

It indicates cell phone handset sales volume in 1Q99 was 56M units, of which 7M were CDMA. Of the 7M, 2.1M were sold in N. America, 4.4M in Asia/Pacific.

Does anybody have any comment on these numbers? I was personally very surprised at the size of the market, especially the implied opportunity for Q if CDMA becomes the dominant wireless technology as all here seem certain.

If this data has been posted before, I apologize; it's a few months old, but I don't remember seeing such a nice summary of handset sales vs region vs technology.
