Of course one has to kick that habit of holding on to the losers and make better use of that money elsewhere... that habit continues to haunt a lot of investors and traders.

Like most people... I used to hold a stock for almost 3 months way deep in the red zone and sell after a 2 dollar gain when the stock is making a run. Something is totally wrong with that picture!!!

If one can only match day for day, the number of days they've held a stock when it's painting negative with the same number of days it's painting positive... they'll be way ahead.

Here's another one: Holding and gutting it out when you're down 20 points per share but scared to hold above a 10 point gain per share on the same stock. <g> A losing strategy IMO...

I cured myself from that by paper trading a moving stock(s) of roughly the same value as the one I'm holding deep in the red zone... employing the "what if" scenario... everyone should try it!

My .02 and not a penny more...
