Nice article.. Its true, but its the brokerages, the learning sites that will proliferate. I'm currently (thanks to a poster) looking into the internet revolution in Israel, I think that where the next explosion is, and I'm more attuned to Israel than other countries. I think it is a stock selectors market.. Longs who fall in love with stocks will lose and shorters who are to sure of their shorts will loose also... Winner will be the brokerages, commerce to commerce sites, web hosts, programmers, software that will do websites on the fly, and all those who think once they open a website the riches will fly in. The losers will be the poor guy who spends $20,000 for a website and has the same end as the little stores did when Sports Authority or Borders opened. They will be swallowed by the big guys.. The new thing now is internet advertising and marketing.. I don't mean those banner ads but real live advertising firms that are learning internet instead of just another internet marketer that started out that way. They will always be eons behind the real marketer with oodles of experience who applies it to the internet. Not another internet tech business who deals with selling ads on the net and banners, but one that deals with real people and can relate the internet to the person, and the product. Can sell the PERSON and not the technology. That's why sites like American Greetings, Elle, Victoria's Secrets, and BEBE work on the net. They think and advertise as if they were NOT nets but real people and they sell the real people the product. In essence you are selling yourself, just like an old fashioned advertiser sells " Godiva chocolates on the net. That's what is succeeding, I see it all around. Whoever gets a handle on that will get the best clients, and those clients in turn will sell themselves and not 'the banner ads'..
