Hi Gustave, relieved I am not needed to reopen the channel. BUT: I am not a CLINGING BACKSEAT DRIVER. For one thing my first action for reconciliation would have been to severely criticise you on some of your assumptions and messaging style. This is why I insisted on your approval before getting real. It could have been hard for you to understand it was meant reconciliatory. Only afterwards I would have pointed out what I think was acceptable or maybe even good and asked CK and TD to have a little patience with you. CK would not have heard criticism but merely one or two proposals. I am not sure about the new SI, I am still quite new here myself. Sometimes I am invited to "betatest the new SI", but I have up to now always refrained from that, so I guess I am still using the old one. Error messages are not very frequent, and I am not keen on testing while the frequency is still high in the novel product. Regards MNI. PS to give you a hint: I think the usage of the WASP accusation against the US is not fair anymore, after the arrival of "political correctness" and, moreover, with the large impact of Blacks and non-Anglo-Saxons. Exactly how much truth lay in that accusation ONCE I also don't know, and wouldn't dare to judge, as I am a European, and not a professor for American history. I think you also severely overextend May Weber. After all his studies were done a hundred years ago. And I think his impact was mainly European. You may remember much of his work has been done in Germany. Also, I think you do not really correctly use the word Jewish (it is not clear whether you denote the ethnicity or the religious adherence; after the NAZIs it seems to be necessary to make clear which position one has; and also a failure to demonstrate this awareness is sometimes used by those who do not want to differentiate Communism, Nazism, Racism, Socialism etc., so I think one has to comply). The Polish immigration to central Europe does not appear, but instead the Jews feature first, which will also make you a suspect of anti-semitism. Now I believe from previous posting you aren't, but how should those others here now that? For the huguenots, maybe you are not aware that there was large-scale huguenot immigration to Germany, and also strong cultural impact. Good example by the way of immigration politics in pre-national European states and multiculturality in Europe. Sometimes I felt like you are arrogant also. This perception seems widespread. A reason to think about it?
