The TA still hasn't changed, just been pushed back a bit. The entire internet sector is vastly oversold. So long as they maintain their support levels, the rebound will come.

Btw, those employment cost numbers affect big corporations more than the internets, who are usually more reliant on technology than brute manpower.

And if people are making more, they have more to spend.

So the worst case is that Alan Greenspeak will hike interest rates 1/4% this August and then stand pat through Y2K. And if Y2K fears get overblown, especially overseas, then look for a bias to lower rates again.

Caveat Emptor.

But the internets seem to be holding their own thus far today, so there is hope.
