(FORMERLY JEFFERSON SMURFIT CORP.) To Sell Certain Timberland Holdings to Rayonier Inc. July 29, 1999, Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. (Nasdaq:SSCC - news) reported that the company reached a definitive agreement to sell its southeastern timberland holdings to Rayonier, Inc. (NYSE:RYN - news), for $725 million.
