Tef have you ever read any Wolanchuk predictions ? This could be the start of the boom & inflationary economy that he says comes about as a result of the tech advances, growing world population; lots of $ to spend, population increases and demand on cyclicals/resources increases subsequently driving prices higher (inflation).

Technology is catalyst by creating new industries, reducing cost of doing business and increasing rate at which business can be done.

He has the knads to call a DOW 16,600 as well !

Cheers
James

>Threadmates might have invaded your private world<

Heck no, Tef, it's just that I've read too much Fortune magazine and become starry-eyed about business personalities! Parties in the Hamptons sounds like stuff they'd report on "Entertainment Tonight for Business Geeks"! <LOL> I've actually been to one party in the Hamptons many years ago. It was fun. At the risk of sounding tasteless, but did you ever consider flying out there with a plane owning buddy? That's what we did - Suffolk County Airport!

>As far as the "Productivity" discussions are concerned, I don't think that AG went far enough in discussing the potential effects of continued productivity gains on the economy<

I have a feeling "irrational exuberance" has in some ways discounted this in his eyes. I think he may be right, which leads me to think the market is fairly priced.

>he always falls short when it comes time to discuss the potential for increased good news as a direct result of the new paradigm we seem to be enjoying in the US Economy today.<

He just can't bring himself to truly turn on the green light to investors. The market might have a spasm! I said it before, I think he's taking lessons from Maffei - or maybe vice versa!

By the way, one of my stocks actually had a great day today - that downtrodden loser sgi (formerly Silicon Graphics). This stock is seen so poorly that their last earnings, +12c versus an expected -3c, caused almost no immediate impact on the stock! They'd had great earnings 2 years ago that turned out to be bogus!

Bill

PS Sorry I used so many !
