James, I often wonder whether people would put up with a little inflation if it meant the Markets would explode and folks could offset rising prices with the capital gains and rising wages which would probably accompany such a picture. Of course, AG and others would argue that the big concern is prices rising faster than wages and savings, and that many in our society who have no savings and little earnings potential would be left behind to deal only with the inflation part of the equation.

That's a tough call, and that's when the economists come into the picture and babble me to sleep. For myself, I would be more than willing to live with a little inflation if it meant MSFT would be at 160 by 12/31/99 <vbg>!!! I'm sure AG doesn't see eye to eye with me on this one, LOL.
