Probably his biggest mistake was trusting the people that you admire to pay him his royalties. No doubt you would have been cheering them on. It often happens that the best inventors are so engrossed in their work that they don't have the time or the inclination to attend to the business aspects. There are people like Edison and Gates ready to exploit that weakness and take the credit and money for the inventions.

He still remains one of the greatest inventors of the century, a fact known by many interested in the sciences, but not acknowledged in the schoolbooks.
