KIRCH's DIGITAL TO BE RETAILED BY TELEKOM

Or use your browser BACK button to return to the previous page. Deutsche Telekom is set to be a retailer of the Kirch Group's new Premiere World digital pay-TV service. Telekom will sell the merged DF1/Premiere service, when it is launched in the autumn, to its cable customers and through its retail shops.
Telekom has nearly 18 million cable connections, many served by cable operators who locally lease its network. With ‘open network' access implemented in Germany and the sale of up to 75% of Telekom's cable properties underway, the move can be seen as protecting Telekom's position in the cable market as well as helping Kirch achieve a faster penetration of its digital service than might otherwise happen.
