Rich, I think we diverged somewhere along the line here. I was referring to the lack of preparedness of the parts of carriers, in general, to support bandwidth on sudden notice. And in particular, my reference was at the distribution level where Digital Cross Connects were required to support provisioning of (local loops) and other transport requirements. I was not referring to OC-192s on the long haul portion (except for my minor digression, "the aside," concerning discreet wavelength components on dwdms).

I was not referring to Cisco or any other vendor's port sizes on the long haul portion of the links.
