They said that these are not the best of times in terms of the GMR capacity ramp. They said 2nd generation and 3rd generation GMR is already on the horizon and that their tools will get more complex because of it. ASPs will go up as well. They said densities will increase for the next several years, and said the "Useful" life of their tools is about 18-36 months. Customers will have to upgrade to meet the next generation requirements.

Actually, the way I understood it, they get process equipment first, but yields are still low, so then they buy metrology systems to increase yields, I would say it is not peaking yet and better times are ahead (but not immediately ahead).
