It was a day-trading outfit.

When I think of a boiler room I think of less than scrupulous licensed brokers who cold call folks to sell them stock at inflated prices. This was a daytrading firm. Alltech does do a considerable amount of advertising.

Until 45 minutes ago I thought that All-Tech was just a local shop stupid enough to alienate their potential clients with those ads that pre-empt the CNBC feed and the ticker tape that is the most useful thing about CNBC. Right after their ad with that ditzy blonde ("and now I'm ready to start trading!"--the worst ad since Ms.Long Only) CNBC reports the shooting. Let's hope this horrible event is not the start of more to come.
