As this carries a date of 4/6/99, is this new news that was just released? I think, in my uneducated way, that the 48 week extension is the biggest vote of confidence that we could see short of actual trial results. Thanks for keeping tabs on things.

Also John,

How does the extension effect the timing of the results we were expecting. Does this push things off into 2000. Before I was anticipating news on this in the Fall. Does the extension alter the timeline in any way? Could the fact enrollment was filled early mean the trial will end sooner than expected? I'm a little confused. On one hand things sound like they could happen sooner than anticipated. On the other not until 2,000.
