When they originally started the process they priced it reasonably. They continually revised the price upward as dictated by demand for the stock which eventually reached a frenzy. I have no idea what the company is really worth but would a bank lend you $2.5 billion for an untested business whose main claim to fame is a website?

Obviously that's a gross understatement and knowing little about the company I won't pretend that's all there is to it -- they did lock in some big talent, for example. Still, what happens when dub, dub, dub, dot MTV, dot com starts hawking MP3 content, software and gear? They do have access to a gillion dollar advertising vehicle that will cost them virtually nothing: just get the VJs to blab about it forcefully and often. Anyway, I wouldn't bet against MPPP because I just started looking at it.
