Now we find out that "the nut" might have killed before, back in the mid-1990's (1994?), but was cleared of the charges? I guess it would be pretty hard to stop people from trading who were cleared of former charges, and now one guy from the trading firm where the people were shot said that this "lunatic" had not traded since April? Strange story. Yogi

VISX Bull,

Indeed. Of course, it is inevitable that all the ultra-left wing liberals, this time led by Sen. Chuck Schumer, will shamelessly use this as an excuse to regulate everyone...in the thought that "the government must protect us from ourselves."

It never fails, one wacko can ruin it for the 99.9% of us who maintain an even keel. And mark my words, you can bet that that Merrill Lynch exec who last year said that "online trading is detrimental to the financial health of the the U.S." is somehow creating his own spin, advocating that us common folk are unable to appropriately manage our own investments.

Anyone wanna take any bets on how fast Bubba Bill takes Air Force One to Atlanta to "mourn" and use it as a further platform for gun control/trading control? I am setting my watch as we speak...and it goes without saying that Geraldo will spend a minimum of one week spinning this into "Tragedy on the Trading Floor..." using his CNBC pulpit. God help us all!!!

If anything, this should serve as a commentary that Humphrey Hawkins testimonies should be curtailed...how about once every four years like the Olympics? I say the blood is on Greenspan's hands, hehe.

Again, must've been one helluva margin call!
