The intention is not to regulate the thread to death Nicholas. We all make mistakes including me, I have made price projections before, been appropriately admonished, apologized and moved on. Thats how things should work! We are all here to police each other so the thread does not deteriorate. in closing, rules are meant to mutate or adapt with the changes and flux of markets... I would agree with that...however, I think the rules "while the market is open" can easily be cast in stone. We have to continually check ourselves to make sure we are not exerting our own biases on our own stock picks. If we don't then all we end up doing is "promotion" of our portfolio, which, when you think about it, is what is happening on every other thread. we will not be posting on this thread ... we are sure this will make a few people happy and perhaps will disable the pressure that some posters believe are causing a non-value added... I am truly sorry to hear that. Hopefully you will reconsider. This is really just a "family" and families have their quarrels and differences. Normally the "father" rules in a household, but because of our progressive society, the family has become a unit that determines its own direction democratically. I think we have become "such a unit". The family agrees with the philosophy of "no predictions", I support that. It is difficult sometimes to avoid a prediction, but nonetheless its not acceptable. After hours everything is fair game, but to show you that its not warranted during trading hours, let me ask you if you think the 10,400 prediction may have shaken out some daytrades, early? It is possible, isn't it? So one has to ask himself if the prediction was a help or hinderance to a "personal strategy". I think that it may have hindered or possibly obscured some persons daytrade. More importantly the 10,400 was a prediction for "beyond" that day, so was irrelevant to the position a person had yesterday. Anyway, my intention is not to be the farm bully, this is just an observation of an outsider looking in at the days trading. I have not read the rest of the posts after you posted this one yet, so hopefully I am not revisiting already made statements! I hope you remain a contributor to the thread Nicholas, good luck! the Chief
