OT Sort of... Appears the man is potentially that bad. And Haim, I hear you, I revile the industry and the hype that is drawing more and more people into trading with out highlighting the risks. CNBC and a steady stream of "buy and island" ads - when everyone is doing it (and they are) we know we are all in trouble. I experienced a bad loss once and it made me feel ill for weeks. Mostly from violating my rules and feeling absolutely stupid about it. I'm a pretty stable person and was surprised at the effect my loss had on me. Without trying to be insulting to anyone anywhere, I am positive many are much less equipped to deal with such things and I fear that situations like today are increasingly a possible outcome. (I won't even start on the gun topic) --- Re the "Strong Immediate Buys" list from Smith Barney, pretty damning stuff. I guess similar experiences are what caused me to go my own way a while back. That and the rumour mill more or less helped me make my mind up to be a technician who dabbles in fundamentals once in a while to (try to) keep the skill up.

Monty, If your friend said that, he was somewhat misleading. Those stocks are the firms 1999-2000 list of 10+ selections....which means they should outperform the market over the next 12 months. There was nothing about them being "strong immediate Buys." Regards, Claud
