One additional thought re future hot sectors:

I was very impressed with the responses Matt posted. Let me ask the group one question: as concerns stocks relating to geriatrics, retirement, etc., I have absolutely no doubt that my generation will push existing ideas and structures beyond their limits, and great growth will come from that. BUT, is that sector sexy enough to generate the volume and profits that we are looking for? I worry about that because right now, I hold several excellent stocks that have tanked or at best drifted, because the current mindset that moves the market often ignores fundamentals in favor of sex appeal (eg, tech, internet, gaming). Will that change? IMHO, no, because it is in the nature of an addiction, and equally hard to break.

Nevertheless, I think that the geriatrics/drug/retirement area merits careful consideration.
