He killed his wife and two kids, went to the broker office and killed 9, wounded 12. And now he just killed himself.
Don't know what his motive yet, but as a reminder, Only Invest what you can afford.

Johnny

This was bound to happen sooner or later- I am suprised it took this long to happen. High-strung people reaching for the brass ring on money that isn't theirs?

This guy had a 92 minvan, his family of 4 lived in an apartment and he was daytrading, likely highly leveraged on the trading house's money. Sounds reasonable to me.

I am saying a prayer, that the daytrading and gambling industries will fade out.

Johnny,

The latest is that this guy also killed himself. My heart goes out to the innocent victims and their families. Obviously, this guy had no business being on the market. I don't know an investor who hasn't taken a few lumps once in a while. Most of us have both made and lost great deals of money at one time or another. We don't go around killing people because of it. It's all part of the game. Sadly, this guy missed the most important parts of the game...to learn from your mistakes...to make yourself better...to hold YOURSELF accountable for your own investment decisions...and to take your wins and losses like a man (or woman) and not a spoiled kid. We've all heard the stories of crazy investors jumping out of windows. (That wouldn't do me much good since my office is on the first floor. I'd just look pretty silly.) But at least those people didn't take 9 innocent bystanders with them, unless they accidently landed on them. What this guy did TRULY SUCKS.

God Bless,

P.S. If the market ever becomes unbearable for someone, maybe they just need a break from it. Take 6 months off from it. Spend more time with your loved ones. Walk your pet. Read a book. Get some rest. Get that yard under control. Whatever. Health and happiness is WAY more important than money is. So is your family. Sorry for the speech.
