Associates ] annual customer satisfaction study
for long-distance service. J.D. Power and
Associates announced today the results of its 1999 Residential Long
Distance Customer Satisfaction Study(SM). Sprint was recognized in the

Comments by Len Lauer,

President, Sprint Consumer Services Group

Consumers rely on Sprint for clear competitive pricing, calling plans that fit
their lifestyle and for its top-rated customer satisfaction. The J.D. Power
survey results confirm we are meeting that expectation.

The study clearly reveals that consumers are looking for more than a good
price from their long-distance provider. They want an ally who delivers clear
straightforward products, delivery on promises and "good old-fashion"
customer service. These traits drive customer satisfaction and Sprint has
consistently outscored the industry in these areas.

There is no greater honor than knowing our customers are pleased with our
Sprint employees and Sprint products and find they deliver what they
promise at a good value. Building a relationship based on trust with the
customer is a must in today's competitive communications field. Sprint's
five-year achievement in this category shows we've been building a solid
bridge between our customers and our products.

Sprint is a global communications company -- at the forefront in integrating
long-distance, local and wireless communications services, and one of the
largest carriers of Internet traffic. Sprint operates and built the United States'
first nationwide all digital, fiber-optic network and is a leader in advanced
data communications services. Sprint has $17 billion in annual revenues and
serves more than 17 million businesses and residential customers. SOURCE

What does the switch to WAP by Palm mean for the pdQ? Doesn't it hurt, bigtime? Competitors can argue it's a legacy product?
