I thought you were aware that health insurance, conventional or HMO, is determined by what state, and sometime, what county you live in.They determine this by zip code. It affects coverage that they will provide and the premiums charged.Since California is such a sue happy state, I am quite sure that the insurance companies and HMOs really stick it to residents there but, with good reason. I know that,in Texas,or at least where I live, pregnancy is covered as if it were any other hospital stay. No penalties involved. I am sure a rash of abortions in any specific area will cause a meaningful spike in premium costs. TD
