Lindy, To be honest I never understood one of his posts, but had the courtesy never to comment on the open thread.

At&T Interview,Wireless Band Aid> <gg>

AT&T- CFO, CNNfn
FDCH CEO Wire/Associated Press

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS
COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM
AND MAY BE UPDATED.

BILL TUCKER, CNNfn ANCHOR, BUSINESS DAY: Joining us now
from [ AT&T ] (Company: AT&T Corporation; Ticker: T; URL:
att.com the company's CFO Dan Somers. Dan joins us from
the Basking Ridge Headquarters. Thank you very much for being with us this
morning. I also should go ahead point out, if you'll allow (07:26:10) me Dan,
that your conference call will be broadcast over the Internet on vcall. Com.
So, investors who are interes. The growth in wireless has been phenomenal
in part due to the Digital One Plan, but there have been a lot of complaints
(07:27:10) about obtaining access. What if anything is being done about
that?

SOMERS: Well, a lot's being done about that, Deborah. We're adding
significant capacity. New York City alone in the last quarter or two quarters,
we've added network capabilities, the (07:27:20) equivalent of a Seattle,
Washington, or a Phoenix if you think of it that way. So, we're significantly
adding capacity. We're responding to unprecedented demand. Our minute
volume is up over 100 percent as compared to (07:27:30) last year.

<<"Didja ever notice" that the people posting to the new thread have an anal radius of under one micron?>>

How do you conduct the measurement? <ggg>

All: Seems like regardless of the original objective of any thread on SI, they all eventually revert to the mean; they all become blends of the individual posts of individual posters. It's, perhaps, one of the best features of the *system*; (responsible) free speech at its finest. Anyone can start a new thread, anyone can read any thread, anyone can post to any thread. Period.

The *old* Q thread was easily running hundreds of posts a day. The new thread(s) slice and dice the posts and provide a good service, IMO, by making the information (frequently in the loose sense of the word) easier to cruise, process and participate in. It's sort of like ice cream; ones preference might be maple nut but isn't it nice to also have pistachio and double nut chocolate to choose from?

To each their own flavor. Foster tolerance of others.

FWIW and best to all. ...Tim

(Lindy - Coooool pic's linked off your profile. Looks like a blast!)

OT: I know it's not the weekend, but I've been thinking about how
the on-line brokers are now launching ways for folks to use their
equities to finance property, rather than seeing their customers liquidate appreciating positions.

Fidelity now has two new programs, one geared for those who want to help a family member buy a home, and one for everyone else.

If interested, check out: personal.fidelity.com

According to Fidelity, "It may be a smart financial vehicle if you believe the earning potential in your investments outweighs your mortgage financing costs."

Why sell the Q when you can pledge shares instead? Does anyone know if any on-line (Merrill not included) brokers offer something like this?

Thoughts appreciated.
