GST, Do you ever see the sunshine and the rainbow or do the dark clouds always bother you ? Lighten up. The sky will hopefully hold for at least another decade before it falls off !!!!! Japan IS different. The difference is cultural. Its the blood, the way people do business, the way govt acts - and reacts. That is not to say that what you say cannot happen, but I believe US govt is far more well equipped to handle the "bubble" than Japanese govt was..... The comparison, IMO, is not appropriate.
