I could be wrong on all of below ... and between now and then lots can change but:

* I think NTT Docomo (Japan) launch already pushed back to at least 2002 earliest.

* Also think that NTT Docomo (Japan) is steadfast in requirement for a physical UIM (3G SIM) not a logical one. This would make it dificult for a cdma2000 implementation I think.
