<I am curious about the supposed bad 810 chipsets? that people are avoiding and ussing the older 400 series. Now you say an 820 fixed shipset will debut on 27 Sept. A large window and when will the shortages of 400 series chipsets be alleviated?>

1) Who said people are avoiding them and using the 400 series of chipsets? Intel may have called back initial shipments of 810 chipsets because of a bug, but I haven't heard anything about customers changing their minds about the 810 and going back to 440BX/ZX.

2) The 820 chipset isn't related to 810. The 820 chipset, also known as Camino, is a Pentium III chipset which supports DRDRAM and a 133 MHz processor bus. The 810 chipset, also known as Whitney, is a Celeron chipset that uses SDRAM and integrates a graphics controller as part of the chipset. They serve two different market segments.

3) I have no idea when the shortage of 440BX/ZX chipsets will be alleviated.
