On the The Naked Truth - Big Kahuna a Myth thread some of the denizens had been studying the astrological lore and using it to play bearish positions. heinz blasnik wrote on July 23rd..

The eclipse study pegs the ideal time frame for a panic at between July 22 and August 3. It has to happen between the lunar and solar eclipses, closer to the lunar eclipse, to be consistent with past statistics.

Lucretius Taurus writing on Friday, the 23rd. expected the next trading session to be the beginning of the end..

According to the eclipse study the brunt of the crash should hit Monday and then the panic generally lasts form 2 to 4 weeks after that.

Though the NASDAQ was down sharply on Monday, July 26th, it was hardly a disaster, heinz blasnik wrote..

Luc, the lack of real damage is frustrating...

The following day, as if intent on skewering the bears, the market powered forward, head down, right into the lunar eclipse. MythMan wrote..

It appears we're back in Melt up land. Correction is over. All's clear. Back in the pool.

He added later..

New highs this week. Not the carnage your tea leaves showed -g-

Eclipses are volatile, like the market. The compressed time and eerie half light of an eclipse reveals hidden truths. And what of Nostradamus' prediction of Armageddon? Will the August 11th solar eclipse usher in the end of the NASDAQ as we know it? Or will the bears find to their chagrin that the market actually climbs higher on doomsday?

Maximum pain.
