You are quite right, Joan, I do not personally employ it, and I have no desire to get into the kind of knock- down drag out that you describe. That is why I chose rather abstract things to argue about. Frankly, with some of the back- and- forth with Terrence and others, I thought I might raise the tone of some of this kind of debate:-), by adverting to "first principles". It is also true that I have not repudiated all that goes on on the "hockey" threads, because I think that there is a different dynamic. However, there is not the same kind of underlying heat to abstract discussions, I think, and I would anticipate little more flaming and cattiness than I have already seen on Feelies.
