Does 20,000,000 units represent the 75% of projected market potential and if so in what year?

*Vari-L grabbed 75% of the base station market*

Recent estimates from NOK, ERICY, and MOT place this figure upwards of 90% . . . This is from my industry sources not company management.

*All things considered, the base station market is still early in its life cycle*

Very True. Presently, base stations are placed roughly 10km to 15km apart, a recent article link I posted (see below) puts future broadband capable base stations at 200m (yes, meters) apart. This dense saturation is a huge potential growth area for VARL in the year 2002 to 2005 range (a bit far out for most of today's “market timing” investors where long term is one year).

I'm smiling at your comments about cell phone usage. At this week's Unwired Universe conference --- sponsored by phone.com --- I'm sure 99 out of 100 attendees were on their phones between sessions. Yes, it was a captive audience, but still rather humorous to observe.

We are moving to a wired universe and as you say, we're just at the beginning. If anyone's tempted to be impatient, they should look at the statistics --- then look around at usage wherever they go -- and relax.
