I was watching the geek central show (screensavers) on ZDTV last night and Frank Casanova, the marketing director for Apple's Quicktime, was on. The product seems to be heads over Real Player in quality of broadcast. He explained the technical aspects of how Apple is using local networks to broadcast quicktime programming while REAL broadcasts everything from a single base in Seattle? which slows viewing and quality speeds. Apple is trading at 19x 1999 earnings which is well below the 34x for its industry. At $55 - is it a bargain, a gamble, a virus to stay away from???? RNWK trades at a PE of 1900x + (WOW!!) - Can AAPL capture the streaming media market and generate a more respectable PE?? Dave!
