Dany Trembling... I mean Tremblay! May I humbly (thanks Grace!) insert my foot in my mouth at this juncture.

Most of the more trafficked threads have their own 'personalities.' Such are usually shaped by one or more kindrid spirits who feel passionately about a stock, either pro, con (or sometimes both).

A good example is the AOL thread. Until April, it was one big Happy Dance! And who could blame them. The stock had appreciated many-fold in the past year, and folks wanted to celebrate! The only problem was that 'other opinions' were not always welcome, as they might spoil the fun. In truth, activities on that thread really didn't impact company operations much. Nor do I believe they affected the stock price at all. So whether much was really gained besides 'feeling good' remains to be seen.

Anyway, we all frequent SI for different reasons: information, socializing, friendship, education, entertainment, what have you. Some of us are here because we depend on SI for our financial well-being. I am such a person. I need to hear all sides of the story, to gather all pertinent information, in order make the soundest investment decisions. Particularly during precarious markets such as this.

So yeah, I like having a good time as much as anyone. But not at the expense of my pocketbook.

Now, be patient as I remove my foot. Ahhhh, relief!
