Earnings per share for Rambus$$$$$$$$

Just for fun, thought I would share what Rambus threadsters have suggested. The most optimistic projection comes from Unclewest, paraphrasing.....

by 2001, Rambus has ~ 50% of the total Dram market (PC, video games, graphics cards, servers, etc). Receives royalties at 1.7% to 2.5%. Estimated worth of Dram market is $43 million. There are ~ 25 million shares of RMBS outstanding. This works out to a little more than $14/share (43 million X 1.7% X 50%/25 million). More conservative threadsters think $43million 2001 estimate too high, and could be lower with lower prices for chips; also, Rambus may at that time have < 50%, maybe 35%?????

Even if you slice the $14/share figure in half to be extra conservative, that's $7/share in 2001. By comparison, Rambus earnings this year are estimated to come in at ~ $.30 per share.

So earnings in 2 years will be between 23-46 X present year earnings. Of course, don't know whether share price will rise in lock-step given already high P/E. But could be at least a 10 bagger???? Always fun to dream during this week's boredom/doldrums.

Best luck to all
Stan
