Well, change in the RIGHT DIRECTION can of course be a friend. :-)

To sum up the objections I have seen raised to the Beta site: this is retrogression, not progress.

There were a lot of "improvements" G2Net could have introduced, which would have been welcomed. They could have extended the search function, for example, making it possible to search the archives ALL the way back (not just for the -- what is it?-- 120 days?). Instead, they cut back on the search functions. They promised to "restore the cuts," when SI-ers protested. But it does show that they were not even thinking about the kind of improvements that would keep SI unique.
