I noticed that story, just the kind of thing that can get make the traders a little antsy.

I agree about Alan Lutz likely not ready to give up the helm. David House from Bay did not last long with John Roth from NT either, even though they seemed to be giving sharing of the office an honest try.

Anyway, for now I think they can go a lot further on their own, but ultimately they may find themselves in a position where it makes more sense to become a part of a larger organization.

In my opinion that is probably not on Monday or Tuesday. My honest hope is that we get no news on Tuesday (no warning that is!).

cheers
Frank

Check the Bloomberg news website- "Newbridge Networks Says It's Not in Talks to Be Acquired" "We aren't in talks with Ericsson or anyone else regarding the acquisition of Newbridge," said Newbridge spokesman John Lawlor. The previous statements appeared on the Blooberg website about 12:55 P.M. eastern, which, I believe, is about the time NN headed south.

In any event, it would not be merely up to Alan Lutz to say no to a reasonable offer. He does have a Board of Directors that he and Matthews are accountable to, as well as to shareholders.
