The charts lately...

The following stocks are basically FLAT since January 1, 1999

YHOO, EBAY, ATHM, AMZN

AOL is up about 28% since January 1, 1999

The following is a summary of the past performance of these stocks in 1998 at various points in time:

AOL Late August 1998 up 60% / Finish 1998 up 800%
YHOO Early September up 100% / Finish 1998 up 800%
ATHM Early September FLAT / Finish 1998 up 300%
AMZN Early September up 100% / Finish 1998 up 1000%

Obviously market conditions will continue to play a role. I am NOT saying the past will repeat, just merely pointing out the MANY fluctuations in sentiment over the course of an extended period of time. Charter Communications IPO in the fall may prove to be a catalyst in investor interest in the broadband future.

Have a great weekend!!
